Hi everyone, 


So finally the curtains were drawn. The celebration had begun. , I am not talking about the Beijing Olympics , but of DLF-IPL 20/20 tournament , which has taken the cricketing world by storm.

Started by the world’s richest board BCCI, it is the money spinner with the prize money never heard of before in cricket. It has attracted the top ranking players from all over the world who were auctioned with the fees running in hundred thousands US$.

The stadiums are running Jam packed . The roar of the crowd to every sixer and four, to every wicket can be heard. The dancing and cheering of the Cheer Leaders and the fans can be seen on every sixer hit.It is like we are witnessing a football final match in the world cup.Such a response by the crowd in India has strenghtened the belief of India being a cricket playing nation with tremendous crowd support.

The team is led by Sourav Ganguly, who is also the Icon Player for the team, and coached by John Buchanan. The official theme of the team is Korbo, Lodhbo, Jeetbo Re (We will do it, Fight for it, Win it) and the official colors are black and gold.

Kings XI Punjab is a sports franchise based in Mohali in the eight team Indian Premier League. The team is led by Yuvraj Singh who is also the Icon Player. The team is coached by Tom Moody, the former Australian all rounder.

Current Squad
India middle order batsman Yuvraj Singh is the designated icon player for the franchise and will also captain the team. In addition to Yuvraj, the team also contains the promising Indian allrounder Irfan Pathan, maverick Indian pacer S. Bangalore Royal Challengers


Royal Challengers Bangalore (also referred to as RCB) is the team representing the city of Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, the inaugural Twenty20 cricket tournament to be held in India. The team is owned by the liquor magnate Vijay Mallya, through his flagship firm UB Group.[3]Brijesh Patel is the CEO of the team and Rahul Dravid, the captain of the team is the Icon Player. Martin Crowe, the former New Zealand captain, is the CCO (Chief Cricketing Officer) of the management team.[4]

  Rajasthan Royals is a franchise team that represents the state of Rajasthan in the Indian Premier League. The team is led and coached by Shane Warne. There is no Icon Player for the team and it is the only IPL team to have a foreign captain and coach. The team’s mascot is a lion named Moochu Singh [2]. The team anthem, ‘Halla Bol’, has been sung by Ila Arun[2]. Leicestershire spinner Jeremy Snape signed on with the Rajasthan Royals as their high-performance coach and psychologist.

Deccan Chargers

Deccan Chargers is the franchise that represents the city of Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League[2]. The team is led by V.V.S. Laxman and coached by Robin Singh, presently the fielding coach of the Indian cricket team. There is no Icon Player for the team.

  The Rajasthan Royals are the winners.The Shane Warne led unfancied and least-expensive team from Rajasthan took home the coveted trophy — said to be the most expensive sporting trophy ever! They lift the DLF-IPL cup . Led by their dynamic captain Sharne Warne , the underdogs finally reached the finals as favourites after defeating the Delhi Dare Devils.The final against Chennai  Superkings led by M.S. Dhoni was a breath taking one. The last ball Victory has the Fans at the edge of their Seats.

The Prize Money

The winning team gets the prize money of 1.2 million US dollars.

The runner up gets 0.6 million US dollars.
